Maintaining...

I seem to be maintaining the norm lately. I get about an hour (or less) to stitch before bed. I put in the last color to finish a section of rock on Castle last night. I took stitching and knitting with me to faire last weekend but didn't pick up either. I thought I would have lots of time, but spent it all with friends. Gotta love those friends!

I sent two emails out today - to the designers I like to work for. Not that there aren't more out there, but I really like the way these two ladies pay me. So I keep in touch with them to see if there's any work for me. You see, that would be a guilt-free start. I haven't wanted to start anything new for myself because there's so much that I want to get done already and I haven't had much time lately. Also, if I have a model to work on I think it would get me that much more excited about the things I already have in the works.

So that is my update for today. I hope to be working on Castle again tonight.

New project - finished

Well, I finished the new project on wednesday night. It looked great, I was happy. I sewed the design onto the backing, now thinking I should have laced it on. It probably would have held better. Anyway, I used craft glue to stick it together. I guess when it finally falls apart, she/they're not going to care. And, of course, I forgot to take a picture of it. Guess I'll have to send them an email asking if they could do that for me. (Honeymoon is planned for Feb.)

But I did finish it in time. Once again, stitching to a deadline - works every time!

I got a few more threads into Castle on Saturday but was too tired to do anything on Sunday. Tonight I have to pay a couple of bills and do laundry and thursday I will be getting ready for faire - so that leaves only two days for stitching this week. We'll see how it goes.

New project

I have to start out by saying that I was wrong. The new project I started for my friends' wedding is more than a two day project. (If I had more time it might have been though.) I've worked on it for 3 days now and still have to stitch on their names and the date. I did get that much charted last night and have marked the center so I know where to start stitching. Of course the finishing needs to be done too. I've got to figure out how to get it onto the top of the box. I've thought that I have to sew it onto the cushion that's part of the box and then glue the cushion back down to the box top. Not the best way but the only thing to do at this point. It looks really good though.

Another week...

Not much stitching going on. My body insisted on trying to catch up on my sleep and I was trying to keep the plants and lawn from dieing on me.

However, I started a new little piece. A couple of friends are getting married this week and at the last minute I decided to do a little something for them. They don't want gifts but I thought a little box would be a nice remembrance for them. I also need to get a card this week.

Anyway, what I started stitching is a heart shaped flower/viney wreath with wedding bells in the center. I'll put their names above and the date below. It's going to be simple but nice. And it's really small so I should have it done in one evening - making it a total of a two-day project.

Then I'll go back to concentrating on Castle and the other wips I've mentioned unless I get one of them done or I finally get a model delivered that I need to start on.

And that's it for this week...

Not much to say...

I haven't been stitching much. I've been having to get up earlier every day and I find I'm not handling the change well. Plus, with it being summer the heat is draining me of energy and I have to water like crazy for my plants to not die on me. (I.e. spending a lot of time outside and sleeping.)

I have stitched a little on Castle and I've started a new knitting and crochet project. It's a *hats for soldiers* project from one of the bulletin boards that I frequent. I want to send care packages to our soldiers and I want to start before Devon (honorary daughter's boyfriend) has to go. So this will be good for me and good for them and I'm hoping this will go far. Actually, I'm hoping that they tell us that they're bringing our boys and girls home before Devon has to go. I'm tired of the "7 Soldiers Killed" headlines or whatever number it happens to be that day. It's a terrible, horrible thing to be happening and we have already "won" the war! Ok, so we won, let's bring our people home!

Sorry, this didn't start out to be a war protest or anything. Anyway, just haven't been stitching much. At least I've finished all models to the point where there's not a designer out there waiting for me to send their project back. Everything I'm working on is for me or DD - no pressure there.

There's a faire this weekend so there won't be any stitching for me during this time. Or next weekend either. During the week is not looking good either but we'll have to wait and see.

Have a great weekend!
