April 2013
Sorry for skipping March, it was quite busy. I finished the design for the "new" designer as well as finishing the consignment job. The regular designer that I work for had sent me a new one and I got started on that. I've taken my rotation down to three projects, though have only been working on two for the last week or so. Model, Blue Dragon Fairy, Chistmas Mystery 2003. Where I'm at in Christmas Mystery is confetti. It's poinsettia flowers and leaves and it's lots of confetti to get really pretty shading. I think I'll try to make myself pick this one up once or twice a week just to get some progress done. Blue Dragon has been calling my name. There are large blocks of color at the top of this project (which is where I started, and skipped a lot of stitches) which is what I'm doing right now. I'm enjoying the fill-in process which usually bores me. I'm getting pretty far too and it's exciting! I have to make myself put it down at night so I can go to bed at a reasonable hour to get enough sleep so I can go to work the next morning! The model this time is a sampler. Letters with small motifs in 3 colors. I really can't complain because I get to use Weeks Dye Works on linen, but the starting and stopping of thread (because of the small motifs) is a lot like confetti and driving me nuts! Maybe that's why I'm so excited to work large blocks of color on Blue Dragon when I'm done. I also found a mistake that I made on Snow White. (The orientation of the fabric was wrong. No way to fudge that one!) So I frogged the whole thing and put it away to start again at another time. As for knit/crochet projects, I made my sister and brother-in-law lap blankets for their birthday/anniversary. I need to pick up that sweater again but I'm afraid that I'm making it too big. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to take it apart and restart it down a size. I've also got the bug to make myself a nice top and a dress. There's a pattern for this really cute toddler's dress that I'm wondering if I can adjust to adult size. But beore that I have an order for two tams so I'm going to have to go buy some yarn. Oh darn!
