March 2012
"I finished the model!" Remember when I said that? Well, I got a call (yes, a CALL) from the designer. Apparently they sent me the WRONG THREAD! I stitched the whole thing with what it called for not knowing it was wrong. I guess she made a change and didn't put it on paper. Now she wanted me to stitch it again. For the price I couldn't say no. So she sent me the same thing with a different thread and I stitched it again - back to back. It was difficult in a way, because I've really never done something like that before. It's kind of like doing a LOT of frogging. After all the time you spent doing it the first time you don't want to do it again. But it was actually easier in a sense. The first one was basically cream on cream and hard to see. This one was a little darker and much easier to see. And I surprised myself by getting it done faster!. The first copy of the model I had in my possession for 22 days and I stitched on it 21 out of those 22 days. The second copy of the model I had for 22 days and I stitched on it only 20 out of those 22 days - actually beating my record for the shortest time stitching on a model! I'm waiting to hear that she's received it. I sent it out Tuesday by priority so she should have it no later than tomorrow.
So what was I doing between models and what have I done since?
-crochet, figuring out where to add rows/stitches to the pattern for mary janes so I can make a pair to felt
I took this one on. And I didn't have to add any rows. Stitching it using wool seemed to make them huge! I had to run them through the washer 3 times but I did finally get them felted down to fit my feet. Now I just need to sew the buttons on and adjust the buttonholes.
-crochet, figuring out the pattern for a shrug and making 2
I tried this one too. I really don't like how it turned out. I need to go back to the pattern that I first tried and just keep adjusting it until it fits what I need.
-crochet, time to start making baby sweaters!
I actually made a dress instead of a sweater. It looks very cute on the hanger and I can't wait to see how it fits on the baby!
-cross stitch, go stash diving to find a dragon UFO for the year of the dragon project
I went stash diving and found "Snowball Fight" by Dragon Dreams. I haven't done a whole lot to it (not enough time) and I need to find my fuzzy stuff!
