July 2012
I did finally manage to finish the model and return it only to have another one arrive within a week's time. Another band sampler which I am quite ok with. This one has a lot of green for me to work with and it has large and small bands. So far so good. I have one small band finished, and a large band at 90% done and I'm alternating finishing that one with starting the next. This is just to keep me from being bored. It's stitching and it should be fun. I have to say I really like the look of this one. And I'm looking forward to the designer releasing the last one so I can post a pic. I have finally come up with a rotation that I like. I start with the consignment piece that I have been working on forever. I'm actually seeing progress on this one so each day I put in one needle's worth of thread and put it down again. This way I feel less guilty about how long it's taking me to work on it. As I get further along I might do 2 needle's worth of thread a day. It depends on what else I have going. Anyway, once that's done I pick up my exchange piece. That one is due to be mailed the first week of August. The design is not very intricate and I'm at least 1/4 to 1/3 into it. At the rate I'm going I should be right on time. If I complete my stitching on the last weekend of the month (28/29) then I can do the finishing that week and be right on time to mail! The third project is always the current model and I put as much time in on that as I can until it's time to go to bed. If I get bored or frustrated with it toward the end of the night then I will put it down and pick up the Disney tablet case that I'm working on. DF asked that I use the kissing Mickey and Minnie Mouse design. It is very cute and I modified it to be brown and white instead of black and white. It's looking good even though I haven't given it much work lately. My deadline for needing it is for our wedding. I hope to have this model done way before then and when that is done I can concentrate on this again. That's it for my stitching update. No crochet to report because I've been concentrating on the models all year. Getting in some extra money is more important than making something that somebody might wear.
